The new Chevrolet Sonic small car--which replaces the Aveo in Chevy's lineup--carries a base price of $14,495 for the sedan and $15,395 for the hatchback, including shipping charges, when it goes on sale this fall. The 2012 Chevy Sonic sticker price is a jump of $2,249 to $3,005 above the 2011 Aveo, but the Sonic is a new design that includes more standard equipment. It rides on General Motors' new Gamma platform.

New Jaguar XE launch – watch it LIVE on Cars UK (below) The new Jaguar XE launch is finally upon us, and you can tune in to Cars UK live at 7.15pm UK time (2.15pm EDT) to see exactly what Jaguar’s take on the BMW 3 Series has to offer. Despite tonight being the official reveal, we already know quite a bit about the new XE. Underpinning the new XE will be Jaguar’s new aluminium iQ Al platform – which will also underpin the Jaguar SUV when that arrives – promising less weight than the 3 Series and better economy thanks to its lower weight.

Students at the Royal College of Art recently celebrated the culmination of two years of study by presenting their final projects at the college's annual MA degree show. With a wide range of projects investigating form language for existing brands, sustainability and some even bordering on fine art, the degree show featured the works of 15 students. Here is a synopsis of their projects: Volkswagen Concerto Hong K Yeo Yeo's Volkswagen Concerto concept earned him the prestigious Pilkington Best Design Interpretation award, which was presented by David Wilkie.
